There is a particular kind of stillness in our workshop when our artisans work on macrame. A focused silence. Fingers move in rhythms learned over years, each knot deliberate, each strand finding its place in something larger than itself.

For ALÉMAIS Pre-Fall '26, we were entrusted with a raffia collection that asks for exactly this kind of attention. Four bags, from generous tote to whispered micro clutch, each one an exercise in restraint and romance. Raffia macrame is unforgiving — there is no hiding a hurried knot, no shortcut to the finish. It is craft that demands patience and rewards it.

Watching these pieces come together feels like watching letters become a sentence, then a poem. A collaboration between ALÉMAIS' romantic eye and the hands of Madagascar.
